For the geeks... These 32 track machines had 16 track heads installed and calibrated for the Gold Star tapes. The tapes were baked in a low temperature oven to relax the binder and allow them to be slowly reeled onto new hubs. This process took a few days. When they were limbered up and the layers were unstuck, then they were digitized into a 32 track ProTools computer.
